Although we know this too is a simple one, we found that good Rottweiler training can be summed up in one word: Consistency.
Rottweilers are famous for testing their owners over and over - especially when they're puppies. If they try to get up on the couch once and you say "NO" they'll wait a while and try it again. If you allow them to get up on the couch (or another family member allows it) the second time, watch out.
They've not only learned that they ARE allowed up on the couch but they've also learned that they just have to keep trying something - and sooner or later it will be allowed!
Stick it out - they will learn in time. The general consensus among Rottweiler owners we've talked to is that the testing slows down around 1.5 to 2 years of age - it never stops but it does SLOW down and gets MUCH easier!
